The Speaker is acting Disgracefully!

Farage blasts Bercow migrant commentsSpeaker Bercow entered parliament as a Conservative MP.  He was elevated to the position of Speaker which means that he must act in an even handed and fair manner.  Most recently his conduct in Parliament has been disgraceful!  He has been seen as blatantly abusing some MPs while allowing others to misuse the parliamentary system.

His behaviour is all the more curious because he has turned against his own Conservative party and is now seen as actively encouraging members of the opposition.  His wife Sally is a well known Labour activist so how is he getting away with this behaviour?  His Deputy is absent facing charges of inappropriate sexual behaviour so surely Speaker Bercow should ensure that his actions are even handed and above reproach.

Yesterday when a Tory MP, Richard Drax, asked a question the Speaker spat out with contempt that it was 'a complete waste of time'.  It was a nasty, perfunctory, dismissal from a man who is clearly demonstrating that he is biased and therefore not up to the job.  I believe that he should be removed from office!

She is married to the Speaker of the House of Commons!

John and Sally Bercow

I have just stumbled upon this years's 'Big Brother' almost by accident and witnessed the wife of the Speaker of the House of Commons being the first person to be evicted ahead of some of the worst 'Z' list nonentities. Sally Bercow is married to one of the most prominent of politicians and yet she has demeaned him and her family by appearing on this trashy programme.

It defies belief! She is living in a grace and favour home courtesy of the taxpayer and yet she feels that it is appropriate to appear with people who just court publicity. I despise this current Speaker because he stood as a Conservative and yet constantly supports the socialists. That is why he was elected to the position. The problem is that his judgement is seriously at question. His wife apparently has a long history of indiscretion.

This is our Political Class. Remember the last Speaker had to resign. He was then ennobled and now resides in the House of Lords. Look at the other 'Lords' and their track records...Prescott and Mandelson and so many others who have disgraced their office.

Clearly the disciples of the bankers who rule the world have no discernible principles. They really believe that they are unaccountable and of course they are right. They are bought and paid for and they belong to the Ruling Class. If you are not in the club then 'tough luck' because they have the guns and the power. This country no longer has a democracy. We are being ruled by a power group of bankers who care not a jot for democracy and the Royal Family appears to have accepted the inevitable (or they part of it?).

What Sally Bercow has achieved is to draw attention to this ridiculous situation. She is a 'one off' and that is being polite. Her husband controls the House of Commons but cannot persuade his wife that she should show some decorum. A weak man is exactly what the politicians and the bankers thrive on. In particular the bankers have recruited, over many decades, weak people who will bow to their demands. Most of our MPs are from that ilk...they have been vetted and approved so that all will be well.

They only serve the Banking Class and that is why they have been elected. Most of the electorate still believe the joke that our elections are important. Actually they don't matter because all the parties support the bankers. So whether you vote Cameron/Miliband/Clegg you will get the same. Of course you can't vote BNP, EDL, UKIP because if you do, according to the mainstream media, you could be termed a traitor/racist/nutter!

Well done Sally m'love you have played a blinder!

Phil Woolas and Mrs Speaker!

I cannot believe the tangle that the Labour Party is getting itself into over the question of Phil Woolas. Let us be clear he is a real little shit who has continually flaunted every aspect of his political career. Witness his run in with Joanna Lumley over the Ghurka question when he was made to look like the inept little man that he actually is.

He was clearly panicking during the General Election (where he scraped home by a little more than 100 votes) when he issued an election pamphlet which apparently racially slandered an election opponent. Now New Labour have almost traded on their diversity agenda and here one of their foremost advocates is seen trading on racism in an effort to win votes.

Clearly a judge has decided that he was out of order and declared the election null and void...so...what happens next? Well the Labour leadership agrees that the legal decision is correct and throws little Phil out of the party. Wow! Whizzbang!

The wife of the Speaker (of all people) decides to guest on the telly and support Phil Woolas and not long after the Speaker gives him a stay of execution. Now he is after a Judicial Review and apparently there is a revolt in the Labour Party against their own leadership.

In this modern political age does this not just emphasise the concerns of the public about The Political Class? They are really incorrigible. They are demonstrating a level of corruption that even their own colleagues cannot accept and yet they still support someone who lied in his election address and was actually guilty of a racial slur!

Well let's face it he is a member of the Labour party so anything goes. They are absolutely without shame and it does not surprise anyone that Sally Bercow, who apparently has a reputation for indiscretion, uses her husband's position to air her jaundiced opinions.

I really now question the appointment of the current Speaker! I always have done but now his wife is ensuring that he is the wrong man for the job. How can Parliament accept a man who is actually so weak that he can be compromised by his wife. I know that in this day and age traditional values have been trashed but can Sally Bercow not realise that she is compromising the neutrality of her husband.

Apparently not!

John Bercow

So now we know that our new Speaker is John Bercow which of course means that in political terms the whips have won yet again. All the predictions were that the NoLab whips were whipping for a Tory purely because he was disliked by the Tories!

He is not a well liked MP. He has the reputation of being a chancer. I do not know anything about him but I just keep getting the whiff of conspiracy. Once again the two party Punch and Judy show seems to have won the day.

They are incapable of being impartial and objective. I cannot tell you why John Bercow is a bad selection but I just instinctively know that he is. Time will tell!

Reward for Failure.

The steam came out of my ears this morning when I read that this failed Speaker is to be ennobled and awarded with a huge pension. This is preposterous! He is the first Speaker in what three hundred years to fail to see out his term of office because of his conduct.

He should have been sent packing immediately, the Deputy Speaker could have stood in for him until a new Speaker is elected. Then today at PM's Question Farce when Nick Clegg, who did the courageous act of telling him to his face to go, was made to look like a criminal as groveller followed groveller in praising a man who had let them all down. It was then that they all showed their true colours on the Labour benches when they tried to howl Clegg down. That was their true mood, not one of contrition or shame but one of righteous indignation that they had been rumbled.

If Speaker Martin moves to the Lords it will prove once and for all that The Political Class still do not understand the mood of the public. They just do not get it. They screeched foul at the conduct of the bankers and then proceeded to copy it.
The reward for failure culture must cease. Speaker Martin should have lost his chance at the House of Lords. Is there no moral authority left at Westminster?

The Speaker

It is all over the mainstream media that Michael Martin, The Speaker, will announce his resignation at 2.30 this afternoon. Now I do not wish to pour cold water on this joyous news but my first reaction is 'When'? I do not trust either him or Gordon Brown. They are experienced manipulators.

I suspect that Martin will be around until the summer recess so that he can meddle in any reforms which this Parliament desperately needs. He will then claim that he 'reformed' the House of Commons before he retired. I hope that the Commons en masse refuses to allow him this luxury. He has proven time and again that he is well out of his depth. Allowing him any leeway at all would be a ghastly error.

I hope that I am wrong but there are a lot of very weak characters in this House and the 'Scottish Mafia' know how to exploit weakeness. We will soon know.

The Speaker and Scotland

I first blogged about The Speaker on 24 Feb 2008 and followed up a month later. At that time it was already being suggested that he was the wrong man for the job. I remember thinking that he was an old fashioned Scottish Socialist and that as such he could never fulfill the role of Speaker because the Speaker should be impartial.

I was brought up in a Scottish socialist household and so I know that the bitterness, the bigotry and the lack of a rounded education prevents them from making impartial decisions. The Scots have been generally brainwashed to accept their version of Scottish history. My own mother who is now 92 tells me what she was taught at school about the English and it is laughable.

One of the problems about our current parliament is that far too many Scottish socialists are ruling the roost. Even in this modern world they have a warped view of England and the English. There is a deep rooted hatred of the English which only comes out when sport is involved. It is no accident that the only people in the United Kingdom who do not have their own Parliament are the English.

In 1996 I was in a Scottish pub in Newtown Stewart on a touring holiday and witnessed England being beaten by Rumania in the European football championships. To a man all the locals were on the side of the Rumanians. Frankly their bigoted attitude sickened me (and remember all my relations are Scots) and I have never forgotten it.

This Speaker should never have been appointed. He has been a disaster and in my opinion the Labour party knew what they were doing. From what I hear about the proceedings today they are quite prepared to bring down democracy and parliament to keep him in office. This will be the legacy of Gordon Brown and Tony Blair. It will take us decades to recover from the last ten years of NoLab rule and blood will be spilt before we do.

Order! Order!

I cannot credit that our current Speaker is prepared to go to court to prevent Freedom of Information campaigners from discovering the extent of his alleged pilfery. Surely this means that he is covering something up and if he isn't then what is the problem?

Personally I have always found it rather bemusing that a working class sheetmetal worker should inherit one of the most historically significant parliamentary positions. I know that sounds pathetically snobbish but surely someone in that position has to possess a sense of propriety based on education, leadership qualities and experience. I always get the feeling when watching Speaker Martin that he is socialist through and through and therefore would find it impossible to give the opposition an even break which is his job.

On top of that if he has been spending tax payers money unwisely (or worse) he could be in for a very rocky time because now that the press have got a whiff of blood they won't stop until they have got him. In the meantime as this matter now goes to court it is, as ever, the taxpayer who picks up the bill.
UPDATE
Just after I wrote this I popped onto Iain Dale's Diary to learn that the Speaker is now bending parliamentary rules to gag MP's from discussing the subject. It is warming up folks!

The Speaker and his Resignation

The Sunday newspapers have been full today of the demise of the Speaker of the House of Commons one Michael Martin a so called working class Scotsman. He is supposed to be the guardian of parliamentary scrutiny but it now transpires that he has been misusing his expense account. Apparently what he has done is not illegal it is just audacious!

What is it about NoLab politicians that given a whiff of power they seem to be unable to cope with it. I get the same impression of so many of them, John Prescott, Tony Blair, Peter Mandelsson and the Kinnocks all seem to have become incredibly rich through their time in parliament. It just doesn't ring true that everything has been done in the best interests of the country. Of course I don't know sufficient about their affairs to accurately comment but it is the impression that they have created which stinks.

I have observed this particular Speaker in action and I must admit that he seems incapable of neutral behaviour. I get the feeling that he is fighting a personal class war and that is sadly unbecoming of any person in his position.

They should make Norman Baker the Lib Dem MP the Speaker as he is one of the few I would trust to occupy the position with fairness and dignity. In the meantime I hope that there are a few people in the background who will whisper in Mr Martin's ear that it is time to go. Will he? That is entirely another matter of course.
