Now look I am a simple man. I am just a member of the public. I do have an interest in UKIP but that is the extent of my 'inside' knowledge. In the past few weeks we have seen information 'leaked' to the public that leading members of the Labour party supported an organisation that actively supported a group promoting paedophelia.
This is a shock! How can these leading politicians and one is the deputy leader of the modern Labour party just shrug their shoulders and hope that it will all go away? We have all made mistakes in our youth but this one is catastrophic! Apparently they supported sex with four year olds and the group they were supporting, included convicted paedophiles, who received government money!
Then yesterday we were told that a guy who is at the heart of Downing Street policy had been arrested for having child porn on his computer. Now listen, anyone who is promoted by the military into sensitive positions has to pass a very stringent vetting procedure. Even a hint of impropriety can bring a military career to a close.
It would appear that at a certain level vetting is not required. Going back to the spies at the back end of World War II, if you have the correct background and the back-up from 'friends' then vetting is irrelevant.
There has been persistent rumours about paedophilia at the highest levels of society and I mean THE very highest of our society!! Following the revelations that Jimmy Savile was a villain par excellence then the acceptance that 'dodgy' practices are accepted at the highest level is disturbing.
Patrick Rock is/was really very close to the PM. They were at one time drinking chums. There have been so many accusations about the political class that they are beginning to appear akin to the mafia.
So much is happening that I can't keep up! We have a crisis at home and a bigger crisis abroad. I am beginning to wonder if we can trust anyone currently inhabiting Westmonster and that is yet another reason to vote UKIP!

Seeking the Truth!
I have always been curious. I inherently believe that the British people have been persistently betrayed by a cartel of leading members of our society. It has been going on for years but because they are supported by the very people that they have placed in power we are left to discover the truth for ourselves.
We will never learn it through the mainstream media. They owe allegiance to their paymasters. Most of our politicians have the same paymasters so we are left to search the Internet which is the final redoubt for freedom of speech and expression.
Every now and then I stumble upon an alternative opinion which sheds some light on my theory that Britains have been betrayed. With this in mind I discovered a web site called 'TheTruthseeker' which covers many of the stories that interest me.
This site uses many authors but it was only when I read an article by an author called T Stokes that I really sat up. This man Anthony Thomas Trevor-Stokes actually died last year aged 93 after leading a remarkable life. It is my opinion that he was actually an old fashioned patriot and as such he emptied his head before he died.
Clearly he had suffered much in his life but he had to have a vivid imagination to fabricate most of his opinions. If you look back on history with an uncluttered mind and deal in plain fact then I reckon this guy had an insight which explains many of our modern problems.
I would welcome comments on his opinions on Winston Churchill for example! If T Stokes is correct and he seems to have remarkable sources then when do we begin to rewrite history and reeducate the public?

The Lessons from Wythenshawe and Sale East
When we study the results of our most recent By-Election one thing becomes very clear. The real winner was 'None-of-the Above' because 72% of the electorate stayed at home. This is actually a shocking indictment on our politicians because the verdict on them is that they are not worthy of our time.
It also means that yet another Labour politician has joined the long list of people living off the public purse even though only about 15% of the electorate voted for him. I have written about this before because how low does the turnout have to fall before the result is declared null and void.
The answer to that is, 'it won't happen' because most of our current politicians have no shame. In particular low turnouts are advantageous to the main parties who can still rely on postal votes and activists to get some of the people to the polling stations. The 'doubters', the people who could change all of this, still believe that, by not voting, they are registering a protest.
It is not working and it will never work. To protest one has to vote against the system which is strangling and destroying the identity of this country. It is the only peaceful weapon that the public has left. We must sweep them from power which means electing sufficient 'independent' politicians to get us out of the EU and bring back power to the people.
If we cannot convince sufficient people by 2015 to vote AGAINST a corruption which is becoming endemic in politics then we will get what we deserve. The apathetic and ignorant masses most of whom have been educated by the mainstream news media to accept a facade of so-called respectability cannot be bothered to seek the truth.
They are by and large content to sit at home and believe the tissue of lies spewing from their television sets and from the pages of their newspapers. It is only when tragedy strikes that the real aims of our political class will emerge. Everyone accepts that the recent rains have been exceptional but the flooding has been assisted by government malevolence. The folly of ceasing to dredge the rivers and clear the drains has come home to roost. It was always more important to send cheques to African despots!

Was All the Flooding Deliberate?
Why has the crucial funding for flood defences meant that the normal measures that for years have defended the properties of the people close to our rivers suddenly disappeared.
I don't trust any government authority. I always believe that in this day and age it is us, the people, against them, the government. So when people are desperate enough to sell to anyone who will buy; what will stop the 'bandits' from buying up farms and homes and then ensuring that the normal defences against flooding are reinstated.

What Has Happened to Common Sense?
We live in precarious times. We are under attack from extreme weather which will always challenge our government. If they are competent and well organised then clearly we will have no complaints. If however they have been incompetent and profligate then bad weather will be the first indicator.
So if you have invited, allowed or demanded that millions of foreign immigrants invade your country without a second thought about how you will cope with them then surely housing will be a priority? So what did they do? They built on the flood plains, particularly in the very attractive south-west and now we have oodles of problems.
We also have a vital rail link to the south west which passes through Dawlish. This link is so important that it had to be protected. So who thought that such an important rail link would be destroyed by bloody weather? They are prepared to spend huge sums of money on a High Speed Railway but then fail to protect links that we depend on!
You would think that with thousands losing their homes and businesses that PM's Question Time would concentrate on solutions to the crisis but no they were more interested in the lack of women on the government's front bench. Ths sight of them going apoplexic at this non event was distasteful to say the least. Where is common sense when you need it?

Foreign Criminals to Remain...Thanks Mr Miliband!!
Sorry folks I must apologise. I closed the blog down for January so that I could take Mrs Meldrew to the Caribbean on a cruise! I did actually announce it in a comment but then if it does not interest you then you will have missed it. Sorry...even my American cousin was asking what has happened?!
You have all surprised me because I only began this blog to rant and apparently I am not ranting alone. Let me tell you about the cruise. We left Southampton on 02 January and we were immediately pitched into a storm. We endured 60 hours of Storm Force 10 or worse before we arrived at Madeira.
Our tour guide in Madeira was a German lady with a keen sense of humour who informed us that Portugal was at the mercy of the EU and the elderly in Portugal were drawing a pension of 240 euros a month. In addition the Madeirian bananas did not qualify to EU standards so their natural fruit had been ignored!
We then sailed for the Caribbean under quite a lot of cloud and docked at Barbados. Our tour guide was great. He explained the education system in detail which frankly mirrored the British education of the 1950's. Consequently they had retained the eleven plus and their smartest kids qualified for scholarships to leading universities regardless of background.
Their kids all wore school uniforms, parents were punished for the truancy of their kids and surprise, surprise, crime rates are very low! In the classroom the teacher is still in control, children are taught respect and society benefits.
Barbados appears to be an exception because elsewhere there is a lot of poverty and the Chinese are avidly propping up some islands by building properties like hospitals. Generally benefits are not paid but essential food stuffs grow everywhere so nobody starves.
Back here nothing changes. An MP introduces a commonsense Bill to prevent foreign criminals from using the Human Rights nonsense to remain in this country thus retaining the threat on the streets and predictably the LibDems and Labour think that it is a good idea.
As usual David Cameron, the corporate leader of the country, proved that he is in office but not in power by having to rely on opponents to stifle any common sense from his back benchers who clearly are concerned about the threat emanating from UKIP.
The next time some foreign thug murders an innocent Brit then just remember that Mr Miliband thinks we should keep him in one of luxury prisons at our expense for as long as he likes before releasing him back into the community probably to repeat the process. I cannot understand such treachery!

Muslims in Iceland?
I do like to research my subject and I had no sooner posted my last when I dropped upon this little beauty! Why on earth would Muslims want to go and live in Iceland? Do you remember when they first came to Britain in little inoffensive groups and then began to push for more and more autonomy.
In fifteen years they battered our borders down and now dominate most of our inner city ghettos. They have completely changed the demography of large areas of our country and I cannot see anything positive that they have introduced to the country.
Now the city of Reykjavik has stated that it can only give one plot of land for the building of a mosque and lo and behold they have two groups of Muslims who both want a mosque. It is laughable but then we have seen it all before here. They have done it in Australia as well and in most major European countries.
This is the very beginning of the attack on Iceland which I warned of in my previous post. These people are probably all professional agitators well versed in law and politics. I just hope that the Icelanders have learned from what has happened elsewhere. Vikings pay homage to your heritage and do not take one step back!

Sandy Hook returns to the Mainstream News!
I could not believe that ITV news revisited the 'Sandy Hook' story once again this evening! Just why have they returned to this nonsense which frankly is all over YouTube. You have to be really naive not to realise that this was a non event!
So for the last time let me at least refer you back to Sonia Smallstorm because she more than anyone joined up all the dots. Falkirk was Electoral Fraud... Is that not illegal?
Time after time we are witnessing a Political Class that flaunts the law. They now appear to be above the law because they are routinely committing crime and it is being ignored.
As I understand it Falkirk is a safe Labour seat. How any constituency in this day and age can be a safe LABOUR seat after 13 years of bedlam defeats me but then the Scots appear to have a tendency not to think about politics. That is why the lowlands choose between the fascist SNP and the communist Labour. No middle ground here then! The Highlands however cop out completely because they are almost single handedly propping up probably the most dysfunctional of all the mainstream parties namely the LibDems.
I do not know why the Highlanders vote LibDem. Possibly it is because they cannot see the point of either the SNP and Labour and who could blame them? Scots do not toleratte minority parties. Nigel Farage was almost physically assaulted in Edinburgh when he popped in for a pint (Ok that is facetious) but it illustrates the point that the Scots are almost disenfranchised if they believe in a middle ground.
So when it is now clear that Labour party officials routinely signed up people as party members without their consent and with the intention of using their membership in favour of the Labour party...what can we call that? The fact that the leader of the Labour party, Ed Miliband, refuses to acknowledge that this practice is synomynous with electoral fraud tells us so much about the modern Political Class.
The whole Falkirk incident happened because the Unite Union was trying to engineer their candidate into Westmonster. This time they were caught out . How many other times have they succeeded? Were the bundles of votes received by the Labour party in Birmingham from Muslim families another example of how this desperate party clings to power?
So now do we have three main parties who are ruling the UK by electoral fraud? The Tories rule in the south of England but are rejected North of Sheffield and ignored in Scotland. Labour rule in lowland Scotland, the north of England and the inner cities. The LibDems have some success in the southwest and the Highlands and of course in Sheffield. Nowhere do we have a national party that appeals to everyone.
The reason for this is money! If you do not have money then politically you cannot exist. That is why so many MP's have been coerced into re-renting and cosying up to the lobbyists and the European Union. They are desperate!
So just how does a political party like say UKIP challenge the mainstream Political system? In reality they cannot challenge the Rothschild funded political system! It cannot be challenged unless people with values, convictions and principles get together and defeat the money men.
You see the Rothschild system has been funded by weakness. They find people who are weak and exploit them. I would like to bet that many of our mainstream politicians are actually being blackmailed in one way or another. There are rumours on the Internet that so many of our leading members of society had links to Jimmy Savile and were therefore open to accusations of sleaze.
We need a new party for the people who want to clean up the sleaze. That means family people who cannot be blackmailed or corrupted. In this modern era can we find sufficient numbers to form a party of decency and values. I suspect we will never find the numbers required but perhaps we should at least try.

Re-Renting is Surely Criminal?
Yesterday the Guido Fawkes blog named 62 Labour MP's who had been discovered 're-renting'. I must admit that the term 're-renting' meant nothing to me until I opened the newspaper this morning and read that this practice was not just limited to Labour MP's.
What these disgraceful charlatans have been doing is renting their offices from unions and local constituency associations and paying for this accommodation from public funds. In essence this means that they are funnelling public money into the coffers of their political backers. Generally the rents are of course higher than the norm because if you are going to cheat the public you may as well make a good job of it.
Apparently and this is the rub, all of this is quite within the rules that the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) applies to their 'clients'. Now morally we would all recognise that using public money to fund your own backers should be regarded as being 'criminal' but of course if you have been morally corrupted then that would not apply!
Here are the details. The amounts involved are not peanuts. It is no surprise to me personally that Ed Davey, the LibDem Energy Minister, appears to top the list. He appeared on Question Time last night and he does not support the British public. He makes me queasy but he is not alone. In effect they are all without scruple and they have now been outed. In my opinion they should all be behind bars but if you continue to vote for them then you will get what you deserve.

Where has Charlotte Leslie been Hiding?
Charlotte Leslie appeared on Newsnight this evening on a programme where she criticized the disgraceful pay out to Sharon Shoesmith for her abject performance in the baby 'P' case. This was a woman who headed the team that failed to recognize that a baby was being blatantly tortured to death.
In her very short appearance on 'Newsnight' Charlotte Leslie came across as being intelligent, articulate and attractive. She was educated at Millfield and Balliol Oxford so she is clearly a really clever sod. She became a member of parliament for Bristol North West in 2010 so why have we never heard of her?
Is Charlotte Leslie slipping under the net because she has a brain? I do not know why she supports the EU because it does not sit with her profile. This lady needs to be watched because I was impressed by her performance. If only she was a eurosceptic!

How Safe is the Flu Jab?
I have now been poorly for about ten days. I visited my local GP on an unrelated matter and he casually offered me the flu jab which I accepted. After all we know about the flu jab because it keeps the elderly protected from the awful winter illness.
Within a few hours my skin began to itch. I felt abnormally fatigued and was disorientated. Then a rash appeared on my chest and later it appeared on my back. I felt as if my skin was crawling.
After four days I asked to see the practice nurse and she forwarded me to the nurse practitioner (senior nurse). She immediately recognised that I was suffering from a reaction to the flu jab! I was told that if it got worse I should report back. Within two days I was back with a doctor who immediately recognised that my immune system had been attacked and offered me antibiotics and skin cream.
So far I am still suffering so I googled the flu jab! This is what one blog reported. Out of curiosity I googled the Stevens-Johnson syndrome and look what I found. I know that I probably do not have the full blown syndrome but hell I was fit and active when I was 'jabbed' and my skin has been 'crawling' ever since.
I now have to ask is the so called 'flu jab' doing more harm than good? The medical authorities seem to be well versed to the fact that the 'flu jab' has the capability to break down immune systems because they all immediately recognised my problem as being linked to the 'flu jab'. I will never have the 'flu jab' again if I ever recover. I just thought that you all should know that this vaccine is not all that it is cracked up to be!
Within a few hours my skin began to itch. I felt abnormally fatigued and was disorientated. Then a rash appeared on my chest and later it appeared on my back. I felt as if my skin was crawling.
After four days I asked to see the practice nurse and she forwarded me to the nurse practitioner (senior nurse). She immediately recognised that I was suffering from a reaction to the flu jab! I was told that if it got worse I should report back. Within two days I was back with a doctor who immediately recognised that my immune system had been attacked and offered me antibiotics and skin cream.
So far I am still suffering so I googled the flu jab! This is what one blog reported. Out of curiosity I googled the Stevens-Johnson syndrome and look what I found. I know that I probably do not have the full blown syndrome but hell I was fit and active when I was 'jabbed' and my skin has been 'crawling' ever since.
I now have to ask is the so called 'flu jab' doing more harm than good? The medical authorities seem to be well versed to the fact that the 'flu jab' has the capability to break down immune systems because they all immediately recognised my problem as being linked to the 'flu jab'. The British People Today!
I sat for an hour last Wednesday waiting for my wife to return from her one week break in Jersey. The reason that I sat for an hour was that the luggage from her flight was directed to the wrong conveyor belt. Welcome to Britain because nobody announced the error, nobody told the waiting friends/relatives and apparently nobody has taken responsibility.
It gave me a chance to observe the arrivals at East Midlands airport and I could not believe my eyes! Remember I recently observed holidaymakers in Skegness and yet here I was again observing British travelers arriving back in the UK from their foreign holidays!
I have never seen such a motley crew! They were totally devoid of style and decorum. Most of them traveled as if they were still on the beach. Far too many were overweight and even the downright ugly can improve themselves with dress sense and style. Probably ten per cent that I saw would meet genuine approval.
We have lost our pride. We have lost our national identity. The English have forgotten or have never been taught what is expected of them. We have now become a third world nation devoid of pride, devoid of decent education and devoid of a sense of value. So many of the English indigenous population have been so ground down by a lack of care that they have lost the ability to parent.
So many have resorted to fags, booze and drugs that they have given up on responsible citizenship. My granddaughter's school is plagued by nits and they are not allowed to expel the carriers!
I despise everything that Ed Miliband stands for, but his phrase 'the race to the bottom' has a ring of truth. Our schools are racing to the bottom! Our public is racing to the bottom! Nobody cares any more and that is the responsibility of the politicians. Everyone with one ounce of common sense knows that, until our kids can play safely on our streets, then we do not have a civilized society.
That is the challenge to any modern political party and should be the maxim of the electorate. The question to every politician should be 'What will YOU do to ensure that our kids can play safely on the streets of the UK'? Until we solve that equation everything else is superfluous.
So when they next step forward asking for your vote ask them! Only UKIP will give you an honest answer because until we get representation on the so called sentencing guidance committee will the public ever gain control of their future.

Tax Breaks for Married Couples? Yeah Right!
The very moment that I heard the headline and saw Jeremy Hunt announcing the policy on the BBC I knew that it had to be a scam. These mainstream politicians have spent decades denegrating and degrading the state of marriage so that there is no way that they would be allowed to reinstate it!
Their problem is that the natural Conservative voter believes in marriage because they are the common sense generation who understand that family values are the cornerstone of society. It is because the value of marital vows has been traduced by the political class for so long that we have such a large population of well...scumbags is a good word.
So now with a fanfare of trumpets the leaders of what was once a Conservative party announce that they intend to reintroduce tax breaks for married couples (was that not in their election manifesto?) But hang on this is David Cameron and Jeremy Hunt that we are talking about so what is the catch?
Well it will not be for ALL married couples only those who are at the lower end of the wage scale. It will probably only be up to £200 a year and will only be introduced after 2015! It will include many of the elderly marrieds but here is the rub. They can only apply on line. They will have to apply together so how many over seventies are sufficiently computer savvy to sit together and work out the complexities of government forms online?
Many of my friends do not even own a computer so that cuts them out and is £200 per annum worth the bother? No this is yet another gimmick from people who have long since lost the trust of most of us. We don't even know if it will get through parliament because the LibDems have already stated that because it is a good idea in principle they cannot possibly vote for it!

Syriasly!
The title is not original. I borrowed it from Captain Ranty who despite rumours still exists! Syriasly are the politicians really beginning to get the message? Have the Russians really stitched up that idiot Obama?
I watched today in parliament when Cameron once again toyed with his opponent. Ed Miliband reminds me of Barack Obama because they are both clueless when it comes to serious issues. However they have so much in common because neither gained their prominence by ability but rather more their ability to serve masters who remain out of the public attention.
However, David Cameron also falls into that category. He would have willingly taken us into yet another war had his minions totally cocked up their numbers. Thankfully we are now out of the Syrian equation (I think) and even Obama and Kerry have been outflanked by the Russians.
That is really not a bad result. The reason is that there is still absolutely no proof that the chemical weapon attack came from the Syrian government! It is just like Saddam Hussein had rockets that would reach the UK in 45 minutes!
Now we have the problem that an army of Al Quaeda fanatics from all across the globe are operating in Syria and Cameron and Obama want us to support them! This is nonsense and most of us know it. The public on both sides of the pond do not want engagement in Syria. There are copious videos demonstrating the brutality of the 'Free Syrian Army' so why did Cameron and Hague want us to get involved?
The bottom line is that they are not in business to represent the public. They have their own game to play and like, in poker, with this Syrian question they have all overplayed their hand. We all now know that they are serving the masters that have allowed them to be elected.
We must rid ourselves of this corrupt cartel. They have betrayed the public. They are operating at their own level and they all agree on the level. We only have one man who is opposing this corruption and that is not healthy. Nigel Farage is just as vulnerable as any other individual but surely it is time that we brought back government to this country?

Get Rid of Them All...with NO Pay Offs!
This BBC scandal is unedifying. They don't respect the public purse and they should no longer have access to it. The line up of public villains facing the House of Commons Select Committee, many of whom have previously lied to the politicians, was for the BBC, a watershed. I tell you what. if you want to learn about Chris Patten read any political motivated book starting with the 'Alan Clarke Diaries'.
Clearly the people at the top have been outed as being cash crazy. Their pay offs for failure have been outrageous! They have tried to cover them up and the HR Director Lucy Adams clearly lied to the Select Committee on her last visit!
In my opinion the BBC should be broken up. It has become quasi political and therefore inaccurate. When the BBC can be accused of inaccuracy, because of a political bias, then it is no longer fit for purpose. This organisation has lost its way and as such should no longer command public money. I am really surprised that a Conservative government has not inquired into this but then this Conservative government is no longer conservative and their Liberal partners are no longer liberal...Hey Ho!

The Real Cost of HS2!
It was never the best kept secret that this is the final leg of the EU high speed rail network and as such will have little political opposition from within Westmonster. It is however, so ill conceived and so costly that for any British politician to accept a plan that has no business merit whatsoever is almost akin to treason.
Many wildlife habitats, areas of natural beauty, and family homes will be destroyed just to accede to a mad socialist concept emanating from Brussels. What does it take for our politicians to ditch this crazy proposal? Why would they even consider it?
Well we are now more aware than ever that many of our elected politicians have access to the EU gravy train. That can be the only reason for this madness. It may have to be up to the public to stop it so those of us who are not directly affected by the upheavel should at all times support those that are. This is one project that should be stopped at all cost!

Where are we Going?
I have just spent a week in Lanzarote with my family. As you might expect it was gorgeous and very hot but it does give everyone a chance to chill out and relax. We stayed in a lovely villa which had many facilities but amongst them was a small library of paperbacks left by previous occupants. I picked a book out of this library which I knew had been very popular and had even been converted into a film called 'The Hunger Games'. It is actually a trilogy but that is inconsequential.
The book details a society where the 'Capitol' rules over 12 Districts all of whom supply 'The Capitol' with their own specialist products. For example District 12 is responsible for coal production. The people living in the 'Districts' are so poor and so deprived that they eat almost anything edible but in the 'Capitol' they have invented a medicine which can make them vomit so that they can eat more!
It really made me think. We have a Political Class which could represent 'The Capitol'. They live in a luxury which most of us cannot contemplate. They are kept in power by 'Peacekeepers' (as described in the book) who act like our modern police force. The sole purpose of the 'Peacekeepers' is to protect the 'Capitol' and ignore crimes against the public! Get the picture?
I cannot yet equate the UK with 'The Hunger Games' but is it not a direction in which we are heading? Unless we close the differential between the 'haves' and the have nots' then surely we are heading into a land where the ruling powers will decimate the so called working class? We already have a ruling class who seem to be able to dictate their own salaries when the rest of us face austerity. If you are a CEO of a major company/local government council/bank or charity then you can command ridiculous salaries!
How come the the CEO's of so called 'charities' can claim six figure salaries? We are all being conned by a system emanating from the EU. The EU began all the corruption. We had none of this arrant nonsense before the EU was formed. I read 'The Hunger Games' and saw the future led by the European Union. They are 'The Ultimate Capitol' and the UK may become District Thirteen.
If we do not listen to Nigel Farage and Godfrey Bloom then this is the direction that we are heading and it frightens me! No not me but I fear for my grandchildren because they are being indoctrinated into accepting a society which is inherently corrupt and they will never know it.
I have read two books of a trilogy. I suspect that the third book deals with the revolution against 'The Capitol'. I firmly believe that unless we are prepared to destroy the current political electoral system then we will remain under the cosh of an unelected elite installed by people with a lot of money.
So in what direction are we as a nation actually going? Good Question!

Daniel Pelka...Baby 'P'... how many More?
It is time to ask questions! We have had so many excuses and apologies but these poor kids still keep dying in horrific circumstances. How many more before kids will die before they tighten up the system so that no kid can steal food from other kids and forage into waste bins to survive?
Are these teachers blind or just incompetent? Is it that they accept a slavish dogma of union rules so that they do not want to confront the parents or get involved with the law? What could prevent a teacher from saving the life of one of their pupils? There are news pictures of this kid's teacher click-clacking into court surrounded by her briefs. Am I being unfair?
Surely someone should have picked this brutal treatment up before the ultimate death of this poor child? I am really angry because I love my granddaughters but at one point I was prevented from recording a school performance because I might have been a pervert!! How did they think that would make me feel? Did they care? No they are just following orders but when push comes to shove common sense disappears and a little boy is tortured before he is murdered. I weep for him but then I would like to see his parents strung up from the nearest lamp post.
Can anyone with compassion argue against this ultimate punishment? Animals deserve to die like animals and then we should all have a day off to celebrate!!

They must however, include the country of origin on the bar code. I did not know this but the first three numbers in the bar code indicates the country of origin. For example 50 is the UK and 93 is Australia. The ones to watch out for are 690-695 China, 471 Taiwan, 489 Hong Kong and 885 Thailand.
I immediately went through our larder and found 50 on almost everything until I came to olive oil which began 80. It is hardly a surprise that Italy uses the number 80. I think that we should all be more aware of the source of our food so if you are interested in a full list of bar code country numbers you can find then here.
