Lest we Forget!

Over the weekend I spent time with many old comrades and their wives as we honoured our war dead.  My own particular ceremony was held in Old Woodhouse, Leicestershire and it was so well attended.  The church was full of so many generations.  My wife remarked to a very young soldier from Welbeck College that I was once like him... which amused everyone!

For me it was an opportunity to meet guys that I grew up with and we are now old men and our wives (so glamorous in yesteryear) are now old ladies but we have lived a life to the full.  Soldiers who complete their full term of service are rewarded with a good pension BUT they have seen a lot of suffering and sacrificed their youth in the service of their country.

These are some of the reasons that I write this blog with so much passion.  I am sickened by the mainstream politicians who routinely disregard the service of the military and let them down. People like Cameron, Clegg and Miliband  routinely appear at the Cenotaph laying wreathes and then go back to their hideyholes and plot to dismantle, destroy and destruct the very people who they purport to support.

The country however still pays homage.  The country know the reticence of the Political Class to recognize the military because the military are the backbone of the country.  They will never bend the knee to the Banking Class (Rothschilds) and so they must be humiliated and destroyed.  It is sadly strange that in some quarters the Rothschilds are linked very strongly with the Windsors!  When we all sung 'God Save the Queen' I did wonder if it was somewhat incongruous.

Today was our day. I would like to thank Dennis, John, Pete  and Bob  for their work to keep our British Legion going. It was also great to meet old friends particularly Tony who was once my partner in 'crime'!  Lest we forget!

Poppy Day

We the British people will honour our dead on Sunday. It is part of our culture, something so revered that it has become sacred because almost everyone knows someone who has been killed in the service of this country.

We, the indigenous population, are accutely aware of the importance of 'Remembrance Day' but what about the incomers? Do they recognise that, when on Sunday, a procession of heroes walk past the Cenotaph, what that parade represents? It represents our heritage, our values and our culture. Sunday is OUR day it is the day that nobody can deny.

So step forward the insignificant, pathetic, rabble rousing, pitiful muslims (small letter) who think that they can disrupt us honouring our dead. I cannot think of a Home Secretary in the past what 20 years that has been worthy of the title but at least this one has declared that any disruption of Sunday cannot be tolerated. I just hope that when these characters decided to burn something and shout something then some police officer will step forward and cuff them!

Yeah right! We all know that nothing will happen. It is a disgrace that even our Remembrance Day cannot be respected!

Royal Wootton Bassett

This is a really nice sentiment and it is entirely appropriate that the people of this small Wiltshire town, that in effect publicised the slaughter of our troops in Afghanistan and exposed the politicians, should be honoured.

It took the local British Legion to honour the lads who had died and in doing so they at last gave those who had sacrificed themselves for their country a fitting homecoming. This was an entirely spontaneous demonstration and NOTHING to do with our politicians. So I ask the question...why has it been discontinued? Our lads and lasses are still at war. They are still dying on the front line. The Wootton Bassett 'experience' gave the families closure... a fitting tribute so why has it been discontinued?

OK the title 'Royal' Wootton Bassett is an honour but then why have they changed the route? If I had a relative killed in action then I would want the RWB tribute. It is a memorable occasion. Are our disgusting politicians who began this spurious war still unable to countenance their disgrace? We should never have gone to Afghanistan and history proves it. It is an alien society which has nothing to do with us and we will never change them.

This was all about neutralising the British Army and taking them out of any future equation. The socialists (and that includes David Cameron and most of his Cabinet) still know that the army will always be Queen and Country before Government! That is the reason that the army is being dispersed year after year.

No other government department has faced such severe cuts. No other government department can waste so much money and still leave their staff so ill equipped to fight a war. I suppose the recent   demise of Dr Liam Fox illustrates the spin and the dishonesty of the defence lobby. The lads on the front line do not deserve such politicians swanning around the world in five star hotels creaming off resources. Fox and his nefarious friends are incorrigible and that is the bottom line.

No wonder they changed the route to Wootton Bassett and then thought that conferring the title 'Royal' to this admirable town would confuse us all. They are actually ashamed of their actions. They hated the publicity of so many killed in action so they dreamt up the honour 'Royal' to persuade the public that they were doing the right thing. Westmonster politicians never do the 'right' thing and the Liam Fox scandal proves it!

Remembrance Day

Last night I met mates of mine with whom I have shared so many experiences. Most of them are still actively enagaged in the TA even though they are all now in their sixties (sorry Dennis)! We had a lovely evening and a really nice meal which we do once a year. They then spend the whole weekend doing the 'right' thing supporting each other and let's face it they are the bedrock of British society.

This made me think, because after that they spend the rest of the weekend engaged in TA activities. I love them all like brothers so why do I not join them? The answer to that is that I do not know. I made a conscious decision that I did not want to be an 'old'soldier and when I left the service then I left for good. Yes I could have earned very good money trading on a very high reputation but I wanted to quit at the right time. In my opinion I had no more to contribute so that was the end of my military career.

Tomorrow all my brothers will attend our local church in uniform and I will do what I always do and watch the proud men and women walk down to the cenotaph and place their flowers in their designated spot. Every year I cry watching these elderly heroes (male and female) strut their stuff because I realise that they are the last of a generation which we will never see again. They pass by with rows of medals, some of them limping along in time to the march wearing row upon row of bravely earned medals.

For me the parade will once again be ruined when good old Gordon Brown, who has done more than anyone in history, to besmirch our armed services, marches forward to deliver a wreathe. He alone has cut back the Armed Forces to such an extent that the standing of living of our heroes can almost be described as squalid.

Believe you me this man is no friend of the Armed Forces and they all know it. When I was a soldier one could expect a good standard of care for the family and when I was away doing 'my thing' I knew that they would be looked after. Today the quarters are a shambles of the standards which I would have accepted.

When the poor guys who have copped it return then they have to beg for adequate compensation. Nobody (apart from the British Legion) ever represents them because they are not an ethnic minority in need of pity/sanctity or politically correctivity!
After all they only give their lives or their limbs for their country and yet so many are living in destitution while the ethnic visitors from countries like Afghanistan live like pop stars!

Make no mistake this is down to Gordon Brown! He hates the forces with a passion! You don't believe me; then just ask when was the last time that a NoLab Cabinet Minister visited or even acknowledged a wounded or dead soldier. They do not visit the wards (there used to be military hospitals until NoLab came to power) and if anyone can prove me wrong I will readily apologise.

The British Army is overcommitted. How do we keep recruiting such magnificent soldiers in this era of social injustice. People like Gordon Brown and Geoff Hoon spit on our soldiers perhaps it is time that the young soldiers of today spat back!
