Are we paying attention?

The economists, the credit raters and even the politicians are warning about a meltdown of the economy. In every bulletin they are warning that the euro is in meltdown and that major European countries have so overspent that they will default on their debts. This is serious because I also believe that Gordon Brown did such a job on us that we are also in serious trouble.

So far at least we retain our credit rating but France is on the point of losing their credit rating and personally I don't believe we are that far off from losing ours. What does it all mean? Well I fear that one day soon I will not be able to withdraw the money that my wife and I have  saved over the years for our old age.

Today I read this article which perhaps confirms my fears. There are people who seriously believe that the position is so bad that we should begin to horde tins and water while we can!  At the moment the people are not panicking but what happens when they do? We all know that the bankers and politicians have let us all down but what happens if the financial situation is actually apocalyptic!

What happens if they have collapsed the economy to the point where we have to barter? Of course it is unthinkable but they keep telling us that the situation is very serious. It appears that many people with money and influence are stocking up. I hate to say it but I think that I will join them while I can afford it!

Wow guys I feel as if I've just been promoted from the Conference League and Sir Alex Ferguson has acknowledged me!! Tks CR you are a powerful figure in the fightback and I am so pleased that you decided to continue after your evening of depression not so long ago.

Steady on Bry!

I may be a leading gobshite....

You write brilliantly and you deserve recognition for that.

And that night of depression may well be repeated. As confident as I am, it gets lonely, and I need some company!

Be well,

CR.
